August 3:  Solar tsunami may hit the earth.


August 8:  132 dead and at least 600 missiing in Leh cloudburst.


August 8The US and United Nations has designated al Qaeda-linked HuJI as a foreign terrorist organization.

August 14: Major Laishram Jyotin Singh of the Army Medical Corps has been posthumously honoured with the Ashok Chakra. 


Celebrations of Pakistan's independence on Saturday, August 14 were cancelled due miserable condition of millions in recent flood. The situation is very grave in Pakistan.  United Nations confirmed at least one case of cholera in Mingora.  It is reported that at least 36,000 people are suffering from acute watery diarrhea. Millions of people need food, clean water and medical care right now to have a control on ‘second wave’ of death from disease.

 Due to heavy rains 32 missing in southwest China. Heavy rain has caused 1150 deaths so far.

 Curfew and restrictions are imposed in many parts of Kashmir in vies a strike call by the separatists.


August 16:  11 districts of West Bengal -  Purulia, Bankura, Murshidabad, Birbhum, Burdwan, Hooghly, West Midnapore, South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas, Nadia and Malda are declared as drought hit this year due to inadequate rain..

Michael Jackson’s parents, Katherine (mother) and Joe (father) may split up after 60 tears of marriage over the death of their son Michael Jackson.

There was rumor that the relationship between Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif was not in proper path. In an interview Salman disclosed that he and Katrina are only friends.



August 20: Pakistan has accepted the USD five million aid from India for flood relief victims. 

300 percentage hike in salary of MPs, still they are not happy.

August 22: Newsweek magazine of USA conducted a survey on different nations on the basis of health, education, economy and politics.  India is in 78th position as per their survey.  Finland is at the top followed by Switzerland, Sweden and Australia.
Our neighbors are not in very good position.  China is in 59th position and surprisingly Sri Lanka is above India, at 66th position. Both Pakistan and Bangladesh are below India. Pakistan at 88th and Bangladesh is at 89th position.
Among the Asian countries Japan, South Korea and Singapore are in top 20.
USA is at 11th position, Germany at 12th and UK is at 14th position.
